The new houses on Stanley Street went up in double-quick time. It was quite fascinating. They are built of wood and cardboard with a non-structural skin of bricks.
The 'Western' side of Stanley Street in view here originally consisted of rare (in Senghenydd) three-storey (ie with open basement) terraces.

They were demolished in the early 1970s, and not before time! This photo is obviously of the backs of the houses.
