Just up the hill from the playing fields and library (off to the right - North - in the photograph) is one of the newer parts of Abertridwr; Bronmynydd and the eastern end of Ilan Road. The new council houses were built around the mid 1980s, and are of a rather different style to the traditional terraced housing of the village.
As you can see, between 1997 (below) and 2002 (above) the houses were repainted. It happened about the time I was selling my house and now that building rather stands out as the grimiest in the street!
