These are the first terraces in Abertridwr. Some of them are quite nice, actually. There is even the odd double-fronted one (to the left of the picture near the entrance to the village) and those in the main part of this picture are terrace-style semi-detached.
The valley continues to the West (off to the right of the photograph). Behind you (North) a lot of more modern housing has been built over the last 40 years or so.
