

Here is an attractive photograph of Mynydd Meio showing some of the allotments where people grew food during the war. Since this is a north facing site I am not too certain how succesful they would have been.
The vast hole is the quarry from whence came the stone to build Ilan road. (which lies directly in front of it.) Later streets were built using a certain amount of less durable brick imported on the new railroad. The quarry now produces a great many bluebells in spring.
